Columbus -
Senator Kevin Bacon (R - Minerva Park) was recently honored at the  Statehouse for his consistently conservative voting record.  Representatives from the American  Conservative Union (ACU) were on-hand to present the Republican legislator with their  "Defender of Liberty" Award for 2011.

Founded in the 1960s, the ACU recognizes policy makers at both the state and national level  who display a commitment to conservative principles and values.

"It's a true honor to serve Central Ohio's families," Bacon said. "The policies and reforms that I  pursue in the legislature are always done so with them in mind.  I look forward to continuing my  service to them, and I am deeply grateful to the ACU for recognizing our efforts."

The American Conservative Union is based out of Alexandria, Virginia.
