Senator Kevin Bacon (R - Minerva Park) was recently honored at the  Statehouse for his consistently conservative voting record.  Representatives from the American  Conservative Union (ACU) were on-hand to present the Republican legislator with their  "Defender of Liberty" Award for 2011. 

Founded in the 1960s, the ACU recognizes policy makers at both the state and national level  who display a commitment to conservative principles and values. 

"It's a true honor to serve Central Ohio's families," Bacon said. "The policies and reforms that I  pursue in the legislature are always done so with them in mind.  I look forward to continuing my  service to them, and I am deeply grateful to the ACU for recognizing our efforts." 

The American Conservative Union is based out of Alexandria, Virginia.

COLUMBUS - State Senator Kevin Bacon (R-Westerville), sponsor of Senate Bill 226,  today announced Senate passage of legislation to make permanent Ohio's Sales Tax Holiday, which provides a three-day sales and use tax exemption for customers purchasing certain retail items during the first weekend in August.

“In many cases current law does not allow for prosecution of individuals who intentionally avoid and knowingly violate protection orders,” said Bacon.
