COLUMBUS– The Ohio Senate today passed Senate Concurrent Resolution 28, sponsored by Senator Kevin Bacon (R–Minerva Park) which seeks to designate a week in May 2014 as “Ohio Warrior Awareness Week.”

“Our servicemen and women come home with wounds that are seen and unseen, and they are deserving of all our praise for their service and gratitude for their sacrifice,” said Bacon. “This is also an important opportunity for Ohio to thank the companies that employ our service men and women.”

Ohio Warrior Week would recognize the more than 100,000 veterans in Ohio who have a service-connected disability. The resolution also urges the Governor to issue an appropriate proclamation in honor of the awareness week.

Senate Concurrent Resolution 28 will now proceed to the Ohio House of Representatives for further consideration.
