COLUMBUS -
State Senator Kevin Bacon (R-Minerva Park) today received the Ohio Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Legislator of the Year award in recognition of his work on behalf of individuals with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that causes serious damage to the lungs and digestive system.

Bacon served as co-chair of the Cystic Fibrosis Legislative Task Force and has worked to provide additional funding, expanded medical access and family support for individuals with cystic fibrosis.

"It is a tremendous honor for me to receive this recognition from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation," said Bacon. "I will continue to serve as a voice for over 1,500 Ohioans who suffer from cystic fibrosis to ensure that they and their loved ones receive the support they need."
