State Senator Kevin Bacon (R-Columbus) recently joined Kids Voting Ohio to discuss the importance of voting with central Ohio students during a youth voting summit held at the Ohio Statehouse.

"We are fortunate to live in a society where our voice at the ballot box is held with such high regard," said Bacon. "In many places around the world, the voices of the governed are silenced by oppressive governments."

Senator Bacon explained the legislative process and listened to students who shared perspectives on issues important to central Ohio youth.

The 14th annual Kids Voting Youth Summit is an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to learn about the political process firsthand and to meet with policymakers about issues important to Ohio youth.
