Bacon recognizes Briggs senior Tori Pappas for winning Division I bowling championship title

COLUMBUS– State Senator Kevin Bacon (R-Minerva Park) today joined colleagues in the Ohio Senate to present a resolution honoring Briggs High School senior Tori Pappas for winning the girls Division I state bowling tournament.

On March 13, Pappas rolled a 619 series (190-204-225) at Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl to become the first Briggs athlete to win a state championship title since 1992. 

"On behalf of the Ohio Senate, I am thrilled to recognize Tori Pappas for her resounding victory at the state bowling tournament," said Bacon. "This extraordinary achievement is a testament to her outstanding work ethic, tenacity and skill."

The Briggs Bruins advanced to the championship round of the tournament, where they ultimately finished eighth overall after losing to 2014 state champion Beavercreek in the quarterfinal round.

“In many cases current law does not allow for prosecution of individuals who intentionally avoid and knowingly violate protection orders,” said Bacon.
