(R to L) Senator Balderson presents Madison Bailey with a resolution in recognition of being named 2015 Ohio Military Kid of the Year.

State Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) recognized Madison Bailey on being named the 2015 Ohio Military Child of the Year today before a session of the Ohio Senate.

"Madison took her own experience as a child of a military service member to help Ohio military youth as a camp counselor for the Ohio Military Kids program," said Balderson. "Her hard work in the classroom and as a youth leader should serve as an example for all young Ohioans."

The Ohio Military Youth program is a partnership between the Ohio National Guard and Ohio 4-H to support the youth of military families throughout the deployment cycle.

Bailey, a senior, serves as president of her high school drama club and lieutenant in the flag corp. After graduation, she plans to attend Ohio University where she will study Outdoor Education and Recreation and pursue a career helping children with disabilities.

The Ohio Adjutant General and Ohio Department of Veteran Services also presented Bailey with accolades during the presentation.
