COLUMBUS - On Wednesday, State Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) presented a resolution honoring Abigail Skinner, of Bremen, who was named the 2017 Ohio Military Kids "Youth of the Year."

"It is an honor to recognize such a wonderful, hard-working young lady like Abby," said Balderson. "Children in military families sacrifice so much and they deserve to be supported and recognized for their ability to adapt to new communities and school systems."

Ohio Military Kids is a statewide program designed to support the youth of military families throughout the deployment cycle.

The Senate recently approved a resolution, designating April as "Month of the Military Child," honoring more than 32,000 children of military families in the state of Ohio for their sacrifices as loved ones are deployed while serving in the Armed Forces.
