State Senator Troy Balderson (R- Zanesville) issued the following statement today in response to the recommendations made to the General Assembly regarding the future ownership of exotic animals in Ohio. "I am grateful for the long hours and effort put forth by members of the work group in formulating ideas to best pursue the issue of exotic animal ownership in Ohio. Since the events of last month, the work group has benefitted from the expertise and insight of various professionals in this field. I look forward to reviewing their recommendations in full and in working with my Senate colleagues to craft legislation that is focused on preserving the safety of Ohio's citizens, while also maintaining the well-being of our animals."
Senator Balderson represents the 20th Senate District of Ohio, which is made up of Athens, Coshocton, Guernsey, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, and Washington Counties
