APPOINTED STATE SENATOR NAMED TO THREE ADDITIONAL COMMITTEES COLUMBUS - State Senator Troy Balderson (R - Zanesville) was named to four senate standing committees earlier today. The appointments were announced by Senate President Thomas Niehaus (R - New Richmond) and are effective immediately. Balderson will add considerable insight to utility and regulatory issues while serving as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Energy & Public Utilities Committee. In addition, Balderson will assume seats on the Senate Agriculture Committee; Senate Health, Human Services & Aging Committee; and Senate Highways & Transportation Committee. "I would like to thank Senate President Niehaus for these assignments," Balderson said. "Each one of these committees holds a unique significance and deals with issues critical to Southeast Ohio. It is my sincere hope to assist in driving debate and cultivating effective policies to help those throughout the 20th Senate District." Senator Balderson was appointed to the Ohio Senate this past summer. Prior to entering the chamber, he had previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives
