Troy Balderson (R- Zanesville) was appointed to the Ohio Senate today, replacing former Senator Jimmy Stewart, who resigned to take a position in the private sector. He represents the 20th Senate District, which encompasses Athens, Coshocton, Guernsey, Meigs, Morgan, Monroe, Muskingum, Noble and Washington counties. "I am honored to have been chosen to represent the families and communities of the 20th Senate District in the Ohio Senate," Balderson said. "I look forward to putting my experience in business and agriculture to work as we pursue policies that will create jobs for Ohioans and get our economy back on track." Balderson was previously elected to two terms in the Ohio House of Representatives, where he represented the 94th House District. He also co-owns an auto dealership and assists in the operation of a family-owned farm in Adamsville. Balderson attended Muskingum College and The Ohio State University. He resides in Zanesville with his wife Angie and their son, Joshua.
