State Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) today released the following statement regarding news that Ohio’s unemployment rate has dropped to 5.7%, its lowest unemployment rate since February 2008. This is well below the national unemployment rate of 6.3%:

“My focus in the Statehouse has been on strengthening our workforce, creating a job-friendly environment and providing more training opportunities for Ohioans. When I came to the Senate over 3 years ago, Ohio’s unemployment rate was above 9% and now has plummeted to 5.7%. There’s more work to be done, but it’s clear that our policies are working not just for Ohio but for the Miami Valley where we have seen over 2,100 jobs announced since January 2014.”
