State Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) today recognized the Funk Music Hall of Fame and Exhibition Center of Dayton on being recognized by the Central States Regional Alliance for Community Media.

"I am honored to present David Webb and the Funk Music Hall of Fame with a resolution on behalf of the Ohio Senate and to recognize this organization's role in promoting Dayton, Ohio as a destination for learning and experiencing Funk Music," said Beagle.

Noting the potential of the center to impart civic pride and serve as a source of community revitalization, Senator Beagle presented board members from the Funk Music Hall of Fame with a resolution on the floor of the Ohio Senate.

First opened several years ago as a venue to highlight Dayton's role as home to the Funk music genre and to honor its legacy, the mission of the Funk Music Hall of Fame is to house and maintain Funk music memorabilia in a place where the public can become educated about the history of Funk music.
