Joined by his family, Senator Bill Beagle is administered his oath of office by Justice Robert Cupp of the Ohio Supreme Court.
Columbus -
As part of the opening ceremonies for the 129th Session of the Ohio General Assembly, Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) was sworn in for a four-year term as the Senator for the 5th Ohio Senate District. The 5th District includes portions of Montgomery and Darke counties and all of Miami County. A former Tipp City Council President and a small business owner, Beagle will make it his highest priority to create an atmosphere for job creation in Ohio. During tough economic times and at a point when the state is facing a potential shortfall in resources, he understands that the General Assembly must exercise fiscal restraint and work to keep taxes in check as many families are struggling to make ends meet. "I look at the significant challenges facing our state as an opportunity to do things better," Beagle said. "I am honored to be representing the best interests of my constituents and all Ohioans as a new member of the state senate." Beagle and his wife Karen reside in Tipp City with their three children and are active members of their community. Beagle has served as a member of the Tipp-Monroe Community Services Board, the Tipp City Power Plant Reuse Committee, the Tipp City Planning Board and the Tipp City Public Library Board of Trustees. Beagle also operates his own small business and created a Web site focusing on the needs of stay-at-home dads in the Dayton area, a venture that was profiled in both local and national media. He also worked for several years in the banking and finance industry. Senator Beagle received his bachelor's degree in finance from Miami University and earned an MBA from Cleveland State University.
