State Senator Bill Beagle (R - Tipp City), tesified before senate committee today about a bill he is sponsoring to boost the amount of tax credits available for investment in LowIncome Communities (LICs) across the state. Joint-sponsored with State Senator Charleta Tavares (D - Columbus), Senate Bill 327 could spark an additional $500 million in investment activity by increasing the current New Markets tax credit cap from $10 million to $50 million. In 2011, Dayton Region New Market Fund received $2 million of tax credits for a minimum of $5.1 million of investment activity in Montgomery County projects through Ohio's second round of allocations.
Senator Bill Beagle serves the people of Ohio's 5th Senate District, which includes Miami County and portions of Montgomery and Darke Counties.
