Columbus –Today, Senator Edna Brown (D-Toledo) announced the state Controlling Board has approved a $195,000 loan to American Flooring Installers, LLC. The loan will be administered by the Ohio Development Services Agency through the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Loan program.

“When the state provides loans to locally-owned minority businesses, it shows a commitment to improving the economy and creating jobs,” said Senator Brown. “I will continue advocating for these types of investments because of the positive impact they have in our communities.”

American Flooring Installers, LLC is a minority-owned and MBE state certified flooring installation company located in Toledo, Ohio. American Flooring Installers is 100% owned by Garrick (Gary) Johnson, who founded the company in October 2005. The company provides flooring products and installation services throughout Northwest Ohio.

The Minority Business Direct Loan provides fixed, low interest loans to state certified minority-owned businesses that are purchasing or improving fixed assets and creating or retaining jobs. American Flooring Installers will use the loan to assist with the purchase of an 8,394 square foot office and warehouse facility located in Toledo.

“I encourage all minority owned businesses in my district to learn more about MBE state certification so they can become eligible for state funding opportunities like this one,” said Senator Brown.
