Columbus – Today, Senator Edna Brown (D-Toledo) presented the Health Equity and Awareness Award to Toledo resident Ms. Doni Miller during the 31st Annual Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbus.

“Doni Miller has tirelessly worked to improve health care access and outcomes for Ohioans during her career,” said Senator Brown. “I am very pleased to recognize her for her efforts and her positive contributions to the Toledo community over many years, particularly as we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King and the ongoing effort to achieve his vision of equality.”

Ms. Doni Miller has more than 25 years of experience in the health care profession. She has served a majority of that time as the Senior Administrator at University Medical Hospitals and Community Health Centers and currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Neighborhood Health Association, the largest Community Health Center system in Northwest Ohio.

The Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission presents awards annually at the Commemorative Celebration in recognition of the service and achievements of Ohio residents and organizations which are consistent with the teachings and example of Dr. King.

Senator Brown Reintroduces Bill To Abolish Death Penalty

 

Columbus—Today,Senator Edna Brown (D-Toledo) introduced SB 154 to abolish the use of capital punishment in Ohio. Senator Brown introduced similar legislation during the 129th and 130th Ohio General Assemblies.



 
 

Senator Brown Announces Over $3 Million In Funding For Toledo Institutions

 

Columbus –Today, Senator Edna Brown (D-Toledo) announced the state Controlling Board has approved over $3.6 million in funding to three Toledo institutions for infrastructure improvements.
