COLUMBUS–Senator Bill Coley (R–Liberty Township) today praised the announcement of 800 new Ohio jobs being created in Montgomery County. The company, Fuyao North America Glass Company, will invest more than $200 million into the project.

The official announcement was made with company executives in the Governor’s Cabinet Room in the Ohio Statehouse this morning.

“Everything we do in the Statehouse leads back to one goal – to make our state the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Coley. “Our work has been paying off over the past 3 years as Ohio has added more than 160,000 new, private-sector jobs through projects just like this one in Moraine, which will put hundreds of people in our area back to work in the coming months.”

Fuyao's new facility will be the largest Chinese investment ever made in Ohio, says the Kasich Administration.  According to the foreign investment tracking organization FDI Markets, it will also be the largest Chinese investment ever made east of the Mississippi River and the largest Chinese automotive industry investment ever made in the U.S. since records have been kept (2004, FDI Markets).

The administration also reports that Fuyao is the largest automotive glass supplier in China with 65 percent of the market and 18 percent of the global automotive glass market. The company currently has a presence in the U.S., Germany, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Brazil, and many other countries in the world.

The agreement bringing the company to Ohio was signed in the Statehouse today with company executives and Governor John Kasich. Fuyao is expected to purchase more than 1 million square feet of space in the Moraine plant.

Among the expected 800 employees the company plans to hire will be those skilled in production, engineering, maintenance, and management.
