Senator Eklund presents a resolution to Chardon High School Principal Andy Fetchik and his family

Senators John Eklund (R–Munson Township) and Capri Cafaro (D-Hubbard) today recognized Andy Fetchik, principal of Chardon High School, for being named the 2015 High School Principal of the Year. Andy was recognized for his strong leadership, personality, and professionalism. The award is jointly sponsored by the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators and MetLife.

“I have so much respect for people that dedicate their lives to teaching our children and educating the future of our country. Andy is one person who has dedicated his life to help educate the youth of our country and he has done a fantastic job of it. It is my privilege to be able to present him with this resolution to recognize his achievements and I am extremely proud of what he has been able to accomplish,” said Eklund. "Principal Fetchik served as principal during the 2012 shooting at Chardon High School and his leadership during that trying period in the community was widely recognized as exceptional and compassionate."
