COLUMBUS—State Senator Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) completed the 2017 legislative session without missing a single floor vote during the first half of the 132nd General Assembly.

This marks the twenty-fifth time during his service in the Ohio Senate, Ohio House and Newark City Council where he has had perfect attendance.

“Serving the people of the 31st Senate district is something I take great pride in doing," said Hottinger. "I am proud of my perfect record of attendance because it is an honor to be our community’s voice on important issues we care about such as creating jobs and making our hometowns safer.”

In addition to his voting record, Hottinger serves on several important committees in the Senate and has led efforts to make it easier for families to save for their children's college education, to ensure the children impacted by Ohio’s opioid crisis have the services they need and worked to keep a local dropout prevention and recovery school from closing its doors.
