Columbus -
State Senator Kris Jordan (R - Powell) was honored at a Statehouse reception this morning as a recipient of the American Conservative Union's Defender of Liberty Award. The organization announced that the honor is a reflection of Jordan's continuous support of conservative principles throughout the current General Assembly. "I am honored to be among the first recipients of this award," said Jordan. "Since joining the General Assembly in 2009, I have stayed true to my conservative principles and plan to continue doing so. I am sincerely grateful for receiving this recognition from the ACU." The American Conservative Union is a national conservative organization based out of Alexandria, Virginia. Ohio was one of only five states to be examined by the ACU in their first year rating state legislators.
Jordan represents Ohio's 19th Senate District, which includes Delaware, Knox, Morrow, Richland, and part of Ashland counties. Prior to serving in the Senate, he served as a State Representative and as a Delaware County Commissioner. He is a proven advocate for spending restraint, lower taxes, and family values. He lives in Powell with his wife, Melissa.
