Senator LaRose presents Resolution to constituent and fellow Cub Scout Daniel Green.
Columbus -
State Senator Frank LaRose (R - Copley) today presented a Senate Resolution to Daniel Green, an 8 year-old cub scout from Silver Lake. During last summer's Silver Lake Festival, Daniel noticed a young girl crying and struggling for breath while in the water. The scout immediately entered the lake, swam toward her and brought her back to safety. His efforts helped in preventing the girl from serious injury. Daniel's actions earned recognition from the Boy Scouts of America as he received the organization's Honor Medal. The award is reserved for Scout members who have "demonstrated heroism and skill in saving or attempting to save life at considerable risk to self." "Though still quite young, Daniel exemplifies the character and selflessness that we all hope to display in our own lives," LaRose said. "As a fellow scout, it is my true honor to recognize him here at the Ohio Senate." Daniel is an active member of Cub Scout Pack 3177.
Senator LaRose represents the 27th Senate District which includes part of Summit County. He is the Vice Chairman of both the Senate Highways and Transportation Committee and the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review.
