State Senator Frank LaRose (R-Copley Township) announced state approval this week of $800,000 for a research and development investment loan to Summit County's Stemco Kaiser, Inc.

The research and development investment loan will go to construct a 20,000 square-foot facility and to purchase machinery, equipment and land in the city of Fairlawn. The funds were approved by the Controlling Board on Monday as requested by the Development Services Agency.

"This is yet another example of how pro-growth, pro-business policies paired with smart economic development initiatives such as this one attract investment and create jobs in Ohio," said LaRose. "I'm excited to watch this company grow in Summit County as they bring high-paying, high-quality jobs to our community."

Stemco, a division of EnPro Industries, has committed to 11 new jobs and 14 retained jobs at the project site.

The Research and Development Investment Loan provides economic development incentives that result in high-wage jobs from large-scale business attraction.
