STATEHOUSE -

State Senator Frank LaRose today announced the beginning of this year's annual Legislative Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools.  The program offers over 220 scholarship opportunities worth more than $1 million to graduating high school seniors in Ohio.

"Ohio's students must be prepared to compete and succeed in the modern workforce. Education makes the difference and will allow them to acquire the skills they need to thrive," said LaRose. "Opportunities such as the Legislative Scholarship Program help students make themselves marketable to Ohio's entrepreneurs who are continually looking for talented workers here in our state."

In order to be eligible for the program, applicants must obtain the signature of a State Representative or State Senator on their nomination form. The scholarship application deadline is April 10, 2015.  Scholarship packets, nomination forms and additional information can be found at www.OhioCareerColleges.org/legislative-scholarship/.
