COLUMBUS -

State Senator Frank LaRose (R-Copley Township) and State Senator Tom Sawyer (D-Akron) today recognized both the Akron Archbishop Hoban High School girls soccer and football teams following state championship seasons.

LaRose and Sawyer presented a resolution honoring the Akron Archbishop Hoban High School Girls Soccer team and their head coach Patrick Dobbins on their first Division II State Championship.

"Coach Dobbins and his players are winners both on the field and in the classroom, and I congratulate them on bringing home the school’s first ever title in girls soccer," LaRose said. "Each of these young ladies has much to be proud of, and the Akron community wishes them success as they complete their studies and begin preparations for the upcoming season."

LaRose was also joined by Sawyer in presenting members of the Archbishop Hoban 2015 Division III Football State Championship team with a resolution on the floor of the Ohio Senate.

"I'm proud to honor the Archbishop Hoban football team on their state championship, adding to the already established legacy of determination and victory that the Hoban football program prides itself on," said LaRose. "Congratulations to Head Coach Tim Tyrell and the entire Hoban community on this great achievement."
