COLUMBUS: Governing magazine has named state Sen. Frank LaRose, R-Copley Township, as one of “12 State Legislators to Watch in 2014.”

The magazine highlights LaRose’s efforts to improve political civility in Columbus. The annual list highlights six Democrats and six Republicans from statehouses across the nation.

“I’m honored to have been recognized by Governing for the work we are doing in Ohio to restore civility to government and foster a political environment that encourages elected officials to put partisan politics aside and work together to solve problems for the good of the people we serve and represent,” LaRose said in a prepared statement. “This list includes some truly outstanding leaders who have dedicated themselves to the honorable business of public service; I’m humbled to be counted among them.”

LaRose has been a member of the Ohio Senate since 2010 and currently serves as the chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Public Safety, Local Government, and Veterans Affairs.
