COLUMBUS–Senator Frank LaRose (R–Copley) recently honored the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s 80th anniversary of service in providing safety for the state of Ohio, as well as the 39 members of the highway patrol who were killed in the line of duty.

“The Ohio State Highway Patrol has dedicated 80 years of service to provide a safe environment for the state of Ohio,” said LaRose. “We honor the memory of those 39 members of the highway patrol who made the ultimate sacrifice and will never be forgotten.”

The highway patrol is responsible for Statehouse and executive security, special operations, motor vehicle inspections, crash investigations and security for other state facilities. They stand on the core values of honesty, sense of urgency, attention to detail, professionalism, adaptability, self-discipline, performance and safety.
