State Senator Frank LaRose (R–Copley) met with participants in the Legislative Fellows Program for South and Central Asia last week. These participants are sponsored by the State Department and spend a total of two months in the United States split into two sessions. Some of the participants in the program are from Kyrgyzstan, where LaRose visited in 2012 and interacted with members of their parliament.
“When I visited Kyrgyzstan two years ago I enjoyed engaging in conversations with leaders there about strengthening economic, security and diplomatic ties between us and this vibrant young democracy," said LaRose. "My hope is that all of these emerging leaders are able to learn from their experience here and be better prepared to help create a bright future for their countries as a result.  More important, their two months here will result in relationships which will strengthen the bonds of friendship between Ohio, the US and these key allies.”
