State Senator Gayle Manning announced today that Borgers Ohio, Inc. plans to create 230 new full-time jobs following the approval of state funds to support roadwork projects in Norwalk.

"This project both strengthens Huron County's infrastructure and provides 230 new jobs for this community," said Manning. "Economic development partnerships like these demonstrate to companies across the country that Ohio is open for business and job creation is a top priority."

The state awarded a $112,481 Roadwork Development Grant to the city of Norwalk. The announcement follows approval by the state's Controlling Board on Monday.

Roadwork Development Grants are administered by the Ohio Development Services Agency. The grants assist in funding local road construction projects that support the expansion and creation of businesses in Ohio.

Improvements include:

  • Resurfacing Industrial Parkway and East Bluegrass Drive
  • Widening intersection at industrial Parkway and Republic Street

This project will support the construction of Borgers Ohio's new 160,000 sq. ft. facility in Norwalk. The company is investing $60 million into their new automotive supply facility in Norwalk.
