State Senator Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) today announced the approval of $115,000 to complete Lorain County Community College’s (LCCC) state-of-the-art Commercialization Center.
The SMART Commercialization Center is an industry-focused partnership with LCCC that supports local technology companies with commercializing their products.
“The new SMART Center at LCCC will provide a high-tech workspace to stimulate innovation and provide students with a unique opportunity to apply their studies and prepare for in-demand technology jobs,” said Manning.
The approval of these funds by the Ohio Controlling Board will allow for the completion of the 46,000 sq. ft., three-story laboratory and commercialization facility.
The funds will further provide LCCC with testing and reliability facilities, simulation labs, and equipment for the SMART Commercialization Center. This will give students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge on real-world commercialization projects for agencies such as the Department of Defense and NASA.
