State Senator Gayle Manning (R–North Ridgeville) today announced the Ohio Controlling Board has authorized the use of $102,160 for construction of local, Northeast Ohio park projects through the Local Parks Project Statewide NatureWorks grant program.
Huron County:

  • $13,374 for the Village of New London Parks and Recreation for the construction of a new playground to replace the existing wood playground structure at Reservoir Park and Campground
  • $15,527 for the City of Norwalk to create a new accessible gazebo and to replace the existing drinking fountain at Stoutenberg Park

Lorain County:

  • $53,190 for the Village of Grafton to create a new parking lot at North Park
  • $20, 069 for Elyria Township to construct and educational pavilion by the Rowland Nature Preserve

 “Our local park systems are important parts of our community,” said Manning. “Parks are good for our kids and families, promote healthy, active lives, and make our neighborhoods more beautiful, all of which contribute to attracting more people and businesses to our area and building our economy.”

Historic Congressional Redistricting Reform Plan Passes Ohio Senate With Bipartisan Support


COLUMBUS—State Senator Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) announced that this week the Ohio Senate passed a plan to reform the process for drawing Ohio’s congressional districts with unanimous, bipartisan support. The passage of Substitute Senate Joint Resolution 5 follows weeks of negotiations between the leadership of both parties in the General Assembly and various redistricting reform coalitions.
