State Senator Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) today received the 2015 Ohio Educational Service Center Association’s Outstanding Legislative Leadership Award for her efforts to strengthen education in Ohio.

"As a former school teacher, I have a unique appreciation for the work our education professionals do every day to ensure that Ohio's students are successful in the classroom," said Manning. 

Senator Manning was nominated by the Lorain County ESC for her leadership and commitment to education while serving in the Ohio Senate.

During the ceremony Senator Manning was honored for her efforts to fight the ongoing drug problem affecting youth in northeast Ohio, championing the passage of legislation to allow districts to use local levy funds for school security and helping to secure a $717 million increase to state education funding.

The Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) represents the superintendents, teachers, supervisors and other personnel of Ohio's Educational Service Centers and seeks to promote excellence in education through the quality services provided by its member organizations.
