Statehouse -

Senate President Keith Faber today named State Senator Gayle Manning (R–North Ridgeville) to serve as the Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Transportation. Now in the committee’s top position, Senator Manning will oversee the direction of state funds for construction and improvement of the state’s roads and highways.

“Transportation is one area of state government that affects every Ohioan on a daily basis,” said Manning. “I am honored to have been chosen to oversee the state’s transportation policies and I look forward to using this position for the good of Ohio jobs and the betterment of travelling in our state. With major state roads and interchanges in my district, including the Ohio Turnpike, I am proud to lead this important panel on behalf of my district and the state.”

In addition to her chairmanship, Senator Manning will also serve as the Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Workforce and Economic Development.

“Workforce development is a key ingredient to growing the state’s economy,” added Manning. “I am looking forward to working on the Workforce and Economic Development Committee to find new, creative ways to match Ohioans with the jobs of tomorrow.”
