State Senator Gayle Manning announced today that the governor has signed the state transportation budget which invests $7.06 billion and creates 96,000 jobs to build and maintain Ohio's job-sustaining highway system.

"This budget is about creating jobs and investing in a transportation system that is safe and accessible for Ohio motorists," said Gayle Manning, Chair of the Senate Transportation, Commerce and Labor Committee.

Senator Manning joined other state leaders for a ceremony at Daifuku Corporation in Reynoldsburg this morning as the governor signed the bill into law.

Daifuku Corporation received a grant from the state last year, allowing them to widen the roadway in front of their facility, increase the size of their operation and hire more workers.

"This company and its success story is a testament to the importance of investments in roads and infrastructure," said Manning.

The budget bill provides funding for various agencies responsible for the construction, maintenance and safety of Ohio roadways. Among the entities supported through this legislation, include the Ohio Department of Transportation, Department of Public Safety, Public Works Commission and Development Services Agency.
