Columbus -
State Senator Larry Obhof (R- Montville Township) announced he recently introduced Senate Concurrent Resolution 20, which urges Congress to approve the Jobs Through Growth Act. The Act, sponsored in part by U.S. Senator Rob Portman, calls for a number of reforms that seek to put the nation back on the path to sustainable economic growth. It calls for a balanced budget requirement, a simplification of the tax system, the repeal of the 2010 federal health care law, and the repeal of many provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act that adversely affect community banks and small businesses. "The reforms contained in the Jobs Through Growth Act are a crucial step in getting people back to work and getting the nation's economy back on track. Senator Portman's proposal will create the environment for jobs and sustained long-term economic growth," Obhof said. "My resolution will let Ohio's Congressional delegation know that we support these efforts at the federal level, much as we have worked at the state level to streamline and reform state government to help revitalize our economy."
