State Senator Larry Obhof (R - Montville Township) appeared today before the Senate Ways and Means and Economic Development Committee to give sponsor testimony in favor of Senate Concurrent Resolution 20. The resolution urges the United States Congress to pass the Jobs Through Growth Act. The Jobs Through Growth Act, which is pending in the United States Senate, is sponsored by Ohio Senator Rob Portman. The act would employ market-based reforms to bolster a national economy that lost millions of jobs in the past four years. Included in the bill's important provisions are a balanced budget requirement, a simplified tax system, and a repeal of the 2010 federal health care law. "This much-needed initiative will reform many of the structural problems with the economy, putting out nation back on the path to sustainable growth," Obhof said. "Ohio has enacted a number of market-based pro-growth reforms in the past year. This resolution will let Ohio's Congressional delegation know that we support such reforms at the federal level as well."
State Senator Larry Obhof represents the 22nd Ohio Senate District, which encompasses Medina, Holmes and Wayne counties and portions of Ashland County. For more information, please visit www.ohiosenate.gov/larry-obhof.
