COLUMBUS—On Thursday, Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) appointed Senator Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) to serve on the conference committee charged with reconciling the differences between the House and Senate versions of the state's biennial operating budget.

"I am honored to serve in this capacity as the House and my colleagues in the Senate continue to steward this very important responsibility," said Oelslager, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. "While this continues to be a difficult task, the budget will be balanced, fiscally responsible and we will continue to keep the priorities of Ohioans at the forefront of this process during conference committee."

The Ohio Constitution requires a balanced budget signed by the governor by June 30.
