Columbus– Senator Charleta B. Tavares (D – Columbus) has recently been appointed to serve on two distinguished committees: The Legislative Task Force on Redistricting, Reapportionment and Demographic Research and the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund.

“These committees will allow me to focus on the issues I am passionate about and have significant knowledge,” stated Senator Tavares.

The task force will assist the General Assembly to fulfill its duties to establish districts for the election of representatives to Congress. The task force will also conduct research studies and other activities necessary to prepare and formulate a plan for the next apportionment of the state for members of the General Assembly.

Senator Tavares has a track record of serving and protecting Ohio’s children.
