COLUMBUS—State Senator Lou Terhar (R-Cincinnati) received the 2017 Elected Official Advocacy Award from the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a)/Council on Aging. The award ceremony took place at their 28th annual conference, where over 400 seniors, service providers, Board members, Advisory Council members, staff and other dignitaries were in attendance.
"I am deeply honored to be recognized by the Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging/Council on Aging with this award,” said Terhar. “The work that these agencies do to assist our most deserving citizens is a shining example of the effectiveness of coordinated and dedicated effort and planning. I salute the Council on Aging and Area Agencies for the fine job that they do serving our senior citizens and the assistance that they provide to them for their life transitions."

A diverse array of winners partnered with o4a and Ohio’s Area Agencies on Aging to improve the lives of older Ohioans, Ohioans with disabilities, and their families.

“Senator Terhar has been instrumental in making aging issues a priority during this year’s state budget discussions,” said Larke Recchie, Chief Executive Officer of o4a. “Through his leadership, the Area Agencies on Aging and the people they serve were given a voice in the Senate during a challenging budget.”

The Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a), a nonprofit organization, is a statewide network of agencies that provide services for the elderly, as well as advocate on behalf of older Ohioans. The Association addresses issues which have an impact on the aging network, provides services to members, and serves as a collective voice for Ohio's Area Agencies on Aging.
