COLUMBUS -
State Senator Joe Uecker (R-Miami Township) served as a community champion this afternoon for the Annual Adams Brown Community Action Partnership (ABCAP) 2015 March for Meals campaign. He joined March for Meals volunteers in serving hot, ready-to-eat meals to senior citizens in Georgetown.

March for Meals is a nationwide community-by-community celebration of the local Meals on Wheels programs. This campaign is held annually during the month of March and is sponsored by the Meals on Wheels Association of America to help raise awareness of the struggles that senior citizens face.

“It is important that we continue to support and advocate for programs such as the March for Meals campaign,” said Uecker. “Meals on Wheels helps ensure wellness and security for elderly members of our community.”

ABCAP Senior Nutrition provides an essential service of a Comprehensive Nutrition Program by delivering meals to homebound seniors in the community and also conducts annual nutritional assessments and daily wellness and safety checks, allowing seniors to live independently in their homes.

The ABCAP Senior Nutrition Program’s March for Meals events include a Community Champions Week, March 16-20, 2015 and a Motorcycle Ride and Dessert Auction on March 21, 2015.
