COLUMBUS—Today, the Ohio Senate announced that State Senator Sandra Williams (D-Cleveland) has been appointed to serve as Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Public Utilities Committee and Vice Chair on the Finance Subcommittee on Workforce for the 131st General Assembly.
 
 “The committees that I have been assigned to will be facing some of the most notable and controversial issues in years and I look very forward to bringing my expertise and innovative ideas to the table,” said Senator Williams. “I welcome the opportunity to work directly on important matters, like access to a quality education, sentencing reform, and ensuring my constituents aren’t paying too much for their utility bills.”
 
In addition to her leadership roles on the Public Utilities committee and Finance subcommittee on Workforce, Senator Williams will also serve on the following committees:

  • Education
  • Energy
  • Criminal
  • Health and Human Services
  • Insurance
  • Ways and Means

  • Senate Bill 310 Study Committee
  • Correctional Institutional Inspection Committee
  • Ohio Taskforce on Community-Police Relations

COLUMBUS—State Senator Sandra R. Williams (D-Cleveland) announced today that the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission has approved funding for the Burke Mansion community project through its cultural facilities grant program. The Cleveland Music School Settlement, which serves as the owner and operator, will use over $250,000 to replace the HVAC system at the Burke Mansion.
