COLUMBUS - Today, Ohio Senate Minority Leader Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) released the following statement after the Ohio House voted to override some of Governor Kasich's vetoes:

"Today is bittersweet. Your protests, calls, emails, and tweets made a difference. Because of you, our Republican colleagues in the House did not vote to end Medicaid expansion in Ohio today. But they did undermine Medicaid in other ways. They voted to override the Governor's veto of the 'Healthy Ohio' program, which could cause 130,000 Ohioans to lose coverage. They also voted to give the legislature more authority to block Medicaid funding.

"The fight is not over. The Ohio Senate could still prevent these overrides. And any of the Governor's vetoes could be overridden at any time - next week, next month, even next year. Keep up the pressure. We will keep working to amplify your voices in the Ohio Statehouse."
