COLUMBUS—Today, the Ohio Senate announced that State Senator Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) has been appointed as Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Committee on Government Oversight for the 132nd General Assembly.

“I am truly honored to have been selected as the Ranking Member of the Senate Government Oversight Committee,” said Senator Yuko. “I look forward to working with my colleagues as we seek to promote transparency and accountability in our state and local governments.”

In addition to serving on the Government Oversight Committee, Senator Yuko will also serve on the following panels:

  • Education
  • Financial Institutions & Insurance
  • Local Government, Public Safety, and Veteran Affairs
  • Transportation Commerce, and Workforce
  • Finance Subcommittee on Primary & Secondary Education

“Committees are an essential component of the legislative process,” said Yuko. “With these assignments, I hope to engage in meaningful discussions and develop public policies that benefit the citizens of this great state.”

There are three fewer standing committees in the 132nd General Assembly than last General Assembly.

Yuko And Clyde To Introduce Registration Modernization Act

 

COLUMBUS –State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) and Senator Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) will soon introduce legislation to modernize voter registration in Ohio and potentially add over 1 million people to the voting rolls. Ohio continues to struggle to implement federal Motor Voter laws.  This bill will fix those problems and automate voter registration for graduating high school students as well.
