First Up This Fall for The Ohio General Assembly
Welcome to the 105th edition of On The Record.
Welcome to fall and a busy schedule for the Ohio General Assembly.
First up? Property taxes.
This week on the President's Podcast we highlight the best interviews and discussions about the critical property tax reforms passed by the legislature. Then the puzzling line item vetoes delivered by the governor wiped out those reforms.
What's next? Will the General Assembly override those vetoes? The simple answer is yes.
Senate President Rob McColley gives a superb description of how the system was leveraged over the years by local governments to generate extra money that wasn't approved by the voters. We'll also hear from former county auditor, Senator Sandra O'Brien who is an expert on the property tax system, Finance Chairman Jerry Cirino and Education Chairman Andrew Brenner.

It's a summary of what happened during the week in the Ohio Senate, along with our links to the President's Podcast. Every interactive edition includes a poll because we like to know what you think about the issues and stories making headlines in Ohio and around the country.
For example, this week we want to know what you think about Jimmy Kimmel's "apology."
The legacy media gushed over Jimmy Kimmel's return to late night television. Do you think his remarks were contrite over what he said about Charlie Kirk and Republicans or was it simply an opportunity for Kimmel to make the story about himself? Take the poll in our newsletter.
We want to thank you for watching and engaging with our social media channels. Our YouTube Channel and Podcast had more than 100,000 views in the last month. We strive to be relevant and thoughtful and as always, we look forward to hearing from you.
In case you missed it watch last week's podcast with two pastors from Ohio Capitol Ministries. Pastors Brian Hanson and Brian Solomon address the painful question of why bad things happen to good people.
